The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) is the main stock exchange of Pakistan. You can visit the official website of the Karachi Stock Exchange for more information. The KSE has seen substantial growth over the last decade going from 487 listed companies in 1990 to 762 in 2000. As of December 31, 2004, there were 661 companies listed on the KSE with a market capitalization of US$29 billion. The KSE has its own index called the "KSE 100" which was introduced in 1991. These 100 companies represent about 86% of the market capitalization of the KSE. A Board of Directors which is comprised of 10 members runs the KSE. Mr. Mohammad Yasin Lakhani is the current Chairman and Mr. Moin M. Fudda is the Managing Director.
